Sarah Bonner has been a middle school classroom teacher for 20 years. She also teaches middle grades teacher education courses for the Watson College of Education at University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Her research focuses on inquiry, literacy, transformative practices, and teacher development connected to social just innovation practices.
